Octave is a high-level interpreted language, primarily intended for numerical computations that is able to provides numerical solution of linear and nonlinear problems while also performing other numerical experiments.



The application provides extensive graphics capabilities for data visualization and manipulation too. You can work with this program through its interactive command line interface, but also write non-interactive programs. The Octave language is quite similar to Matlab so that most programs are easily portable.
