Safe Sleep is a handy utility that shuts down one application before your computer sleeps automatically so that when it awakes your computer can connect to the internet without another application hammering it until it successfully blocks your internet connection and you have to restart your computer and close a number of applications that you were trying to keep open in the first place. If you notice that your computer can't connect to the internet after coming out of sleep you may find that Yahoo Messenger or another server based application is the culprit.



Safe Sleep will save that program name in memory and automatically shutting down the interfering application in the background so that when your program awakes your internet connection is still enabled and you don't have to go through the rigamarole of restarting your computer again, just the offending program if desired.



It runs in the background and only shows a icon in the taskbar to let you know it's active. Once you set it up you will never have to touch it again because it optionally launches with Windows every time you start your computer.
