X-VideoLAN was specially developed as a portable version of VLC, an accessible and Open Source media player and streaming server.
X-VideoLAN is a multimedia player that features support for various video and audio formats (H.264, MKV, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, MPEG-1, DivX, MP3, OGG, WAV, etc) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
The VLC media player can be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4/IPv6. Moreover, VLC can playback your files, even if the media is damaged.
